After more than a decade in the podcasting world, I’ve learned that great sound is more than clean audio, it’s emotional clarity, rhythm, and connection.
I’m Jaime Prater, founder of North County Sound, based in Leucadia, California, after spending ten years in Los Angeles. A native Chicagoan, I bring Midwestern heart, West Coast sensibility, and a deep love of storytelling to everything I do. Over the past ten years, I’ve edited and produced more than 600 podcast episodes, many of which rank in the top ten percent of shows globally, with over one million downloads.
I’ve partnered with major film and television studios, independent creators, and non-profits, helping each find their authentic voice through sound. Beyond podcasting, I’m also a documentary filmmaker and have produced several professional audio dramas, bringing cinematic storytelling instincts to every project I touch.
North County Sound was born out of that experience, a studio dedicated to creators who value precision, tone, and emotion. Every project I take on is treated as a collaboration. The goal is simple: to make your voice and story resonate.
